Spoiled Rotten

 photo DS9C0213copy_zpsf9mpesf3.jpg

I firmly believe in spoiling yourself, not out of vanity but out of self love. Spoil yourself with nice things, great company, love, delicious food, and spare time to do with as you please. Spoil yourself by setting your standards high and making the most of your time by doing things that enrich your spirits. Listen to music that makes you feel light-hearted, catch up with old friends, and take a long walk for the hell of it. Spoil yourself with the thoughts that you think. Stop over analyzing situations and being so critical of yourself. Believe that the world is on your side and kill any negativity that approaches you with kindness.

Playing Games

 photo DS9C0097copy_zps6w2mxuqt.jpg

Life is a game; a non-competitive game of Sorry! to be exact. It's really colorful and fun, it's not meant to be taken too seriously, but every now and then you have to make some sporadic moves and laugh like a super villain as you knock some pegs off the board. My end goal is always in sight, but maneuvering my way to get there takes countless readjustments to the game plan. It's literally all a game.

It's all just this crazy juggling act and one small slip up can make it feel like everything is crashing down. My focus is constantly changing each and every day. The game plan is constantly changing and readjusting to whatever the current situation brings. Flexibility is a virtue many forget to mention or even consider, yet without it you won't find yourself going very far. Like I have said before, things almost never go to plan but that doesn't mean they don't have a way of working out. You have to continuously scan and analyze your surroundings. What can you make from this? What do I do now? How do I take the next step forward? If you keep searching you will eventually find exactly what you need.

Chinatown

 photo _IMG2383_zps1c793c8e.jpg

I have such a love for places like Chinatown in San Francisco. The energy and life is abundant and inescapable. There are a million different stories waiting to be told at any given moment. I remember walking by this park and there were dozens of different groups of people gambling and playing card games. I had never seen anything like that before. It was so strange to have that realization, that something as insignificant as a lot of different people doing nothing other than just hanging out at a park and interacting with each other was unusual. Why is that such a unique sight to see? Why did this image stand out more than anything else that day? People don't hang out anymore. Everyone is so isolated from one another to the point where something like a community of people who hang out together is something almost unheard of.

Beautiful Disasters

 photo blog1_zpsc63e12e5.jpg

I am a firm believer in the idea of life is what you make it. Sometimes life will throw a really shitty hand of cards your way but what many fail to understand is that the shittiest hand can quickly become the best. Transform and transcend everything to make it what you want. Life rarely works out the way you want it to, but if you can move forward and take all that you can from every negative and positive experience you never lose. Let every perceived misfortune propel you that much further into the direction you want to go.

"Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form to another. "
- Albert Einstein

It's all about perception. Life is whatever you perceive it to be. I don't lose and I can't lose because I don't see it as an option. No matter what happens I am able to make the best of it.
