End of a Chapter

 photo DS9C1641copy_zpsyxrwwtc0.jpg
It has been a wild year. I have been discovering my purpose and finding my path one day at a time. My personal goals for the next year have been decided and marked in stone. I finally know exactly what I want and where I want to be and have made a definite plan of how to achieve it. A lot of hard work is ahead of me and I have so much to learn in order to get there. I will be taking a break from my blog so that I may focus more on growing my skills in other avenues of creativity beyond styling. When I return to blogging I will be completely redoing my blog. Styled By Noosh has been somewhat of an experiment and I do not feel it accurately represents me or my current vision. It has been a great learning experience and way of networking, however I want to be sure to dedicate my time and develop something which accurately portrays my vision and which can serve as an organic and genuine artistic creative outlet. Whatever I do needs to express my personal vision while also serving as a source of spiritual and creative inspiration to others. Every person living and breathing is full of infinite potential and capabilities; you can do or achieve anything you set your mind to, and I want my blog to awaken the mind and soul in some way shape or form of any individual that so happens to come across it. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me in any way the past year. This journey has been crazy, exciting and full of surprises and I wouldn't have been able to do so much with out the support and love of so many amazing people.

Somebody's Party

 photo IMG_7768bw_zps54bda48e.jpg

Learning to enjoy your own company can be difficult. Being in your own company can be complete torture sometimes; your thoughts can wander and race and you can't get control of your mind. People can cause so many unnecessary problems for themselves by trying to escape themselves and their thoughts. Some will even drink excessively or turn to drugs in order to silence a voice in their mind that won't shut up. We all have it to some degree. It's that voice that tells you you're not good enough. Some people rarely hear it, others hear it after any tiny mistake they make, and some can rarely find moments where they are free from it.

Learning to accept and forgive yourself is so simple and yet so difficult. You have to accept that you are not perfect and never will be, but also make a conscious effort to improve that which you don't like about yourself. Stop hating yourself for all that you have done wrong; understand that everyone makes mistakes. Be your own best friend; learn to be kind to yourself by regulating your thoughts and emotions. When you find your mind spiraling in the wrong direction find a way to feel appreciation for something, no matter how big or small. Find a way to focus on that feeling for as long as possible and carry that with you as long as you can throughout your day.

The concept of freedom is something that has frustrated me a lot these past few years. Who has it? Does anyone have it? Do we all have it? How do I get it? Am I really free to do and be whatever I want and if not how do I attain that freedom? I find that feelings of restriction, confinement, and helplessness are almost always at the root of unhappiness. To me, freedom is the equivalent of happiness. Freedom is empowerment in its highest form. The freedom to be what you want, to do what you want, to say what you want, and just be are often thought of as having to be earned or given but in actuality it is yours to take at any moment.

The quickest way to find freedom is to silence everything around you. Find a way to be one with the present moment. Don't worry about tomorrow, the next minute or second; focus on where you are right now, where you have been and where you are going. Feel appreciation for how far you have come, how much your life has progressed and how the beautiful journey ahead will allow you to grow that much more. In this moment you might feel your heart swell and get light and fluttery. Your mind will clear completely and your eyes may even begin to water from relief. You should feel proud, humble and an overwhelming sense of hopefulness and gratitude. This is how I find freedom within myself and it empowers me to find and search for the freedom in all other aspects of my life.

Please understand that whatever your current situation is and however powerless you feel to the circumstances of your life, you have complete power and freedom to not be controlled by it. You are free as long as you choose to be.

Finding Your Focus

 photo DS9C1127copy_zps7fsnvqsc.jpg

Losing your focus can be just what you need sometimes. It's like doing a really difficult math problem and spending hours trying to solve it. You try to calculate this way, then another, then another way, then backtrack and reverse and are finally left with nothing to do but stare blankly at the frustrating assortment of numbers in defeat hoping some act of god will occur and strike you with the answer. In times like that, it's always good to take a breath. Take a short break and recuperate. Get distracted, let your mind wander and work on something else. Find a way to relieve the pent up stress and then promptly come back. Most times you will be able to see a new perspective and way of solving the problem.

Finding the answer may mean having to lose your focus for a brief moment. Finding the next step to take may mean having to walk away from the problem and then coming back to it. Take some time to be a little irresponsible and careless, but don't neglect your goals completely or for too long. Don't give up and don't lose sight of what you want. Relax, readjust, refocus on what you want and then keep going.

Spoiled Rotten

 photo DS9C0213copy_zpsf9mpesf3.jpg

I firmly believe in spoiling yourself, not out of vanity but out of self love. Spoil yourself with nice things, great company, love, delicious food, and spare time to do with as you please. Spoil yourself by setting your standards high and making the most of your time by doing things that enrich your spirits. Listen to music that makes you feel light-hearted, catch up with old friends, and take a long walk for the hell of it. Spoil yourself with the thoughts that you think. Stop over analyzing situations and being so critical of yourself. Believe that the world is on your side and kill any negativity that approaches you with kindness.

Playing Games

 photo DS9C0097copy_zps6w2mxuqt.jpg

Life is a game; a non-competitive game of Sorry! to be exact. It's really colorful and fun, it's not meant to be taken too seriously, but every now and then you have to make some sporadic moves and laugh like a super villain as you knock some pegs off the board. My end goal is always in sight, but maneuvering my way to get there takes countless readjustments to the game plan. It's literally all a game.

It's all just this crazy juggling act and one small slip up can make it feel like everything is crashing down. My focus is constantly changing each and every day. The game plan is constantly changing and readjusting to whatever the current situation brings. Flexibility is a virtue many forget to mention or even consider, yet without it you won't find yourself going very far. Like I have said before, things almost never go to plan but that doesn't mean they don't have a way of working out. You have to continuously scan and analyze your surroundings. What can you make from this? What do I do now? How do I take the next step forward? If you keep searching you will eventually find exactly what you need.

I have such a love for places like Chinatown in San Francisco. The energy and life is abundant and inescapable. There are a million different stories waiting to be told at any given moment. I remember walking by this park and there were dozens of different groups of people gambling and playing card games. I had never seen anything like that before. It was so strange to have that realization, that something as insignificant as a lot of different people doing nothing other than just hanging out at a park and interacting with each other was unusual. Why is that such a unique sight to see? Why did this image stand out more than anything else that day? People don't hang out anymore. Everyone is so isolated from one another to the point where something like a community of people who hang out together is something almost unheard of.

Beautiful Disasters

 photo blog1_zpsc63e12e5.jpg

I am a firm believer in the idea of life is what you make it. Sometimes life will throw a really shitty hand of cards your way but what many fail to understand is that the shittiest hand can quickly become the best. Transform and transcend everything to make it what you want. Life rarely works out the way you want it to, but if you can move forward and take all that you can from every negative and positive experience you never lose. Let every perceived misfortune propel you that much further into the direction you want to go.

"Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form to another. "
- Albert Einstein

It's all about perception. Life is whatever you perceive it to be. I don't lose and I can't lose because I don't see it as an option. No matter what happens I am able to make the best of it.
